Proudly Serving Southwest Florida

The most wonderful time of the year has arrived! Between hosting dinner parties or having a relaxing day with family, the holidays are an exciting time! During the holidays, we forget about the waste created by all the joy and excitement. Here at Clean Trash Services, we look forward to serving you even after the holidays are over!

Here at Clean Trash Services, we hope you have a wonderful and green holiday. Here are some tips to make your Holiday a little cleaner!

#1 Recycling your tree

No matter what kind of tree you put up, there are plenty of ways to recycle it after the holiday season. People can reuse artificial trees for years, but they only use live trees for one season. There are many ways to get rid of your tree once the celebrations are over.

#2 Properly disposing of wrapping paper

After unwrapping all those presents, it’s important to dispose of the wrapping paper responsibly. While it may be tempting to simply throw it in the trash, consider recycling it instead.

Most wrapping paper is made from recyclable paper fibers. Find recycling symbols on the paper or ask your local recycling center if they take it. If the wrapping paper has metal or plastic coatings, don’t recycle it, throw it away.

 #3 Donating unwanted items

The holiday season often brings new gifts and goodies into our homes, which means it’s the perfect time to declutter and donate any unwanted items! Instead of throwing them away, consider donating them to local charities or thrift stores. Many organizations gladly accept gently used clothing, toys, and household items. Not only does this help reduce waste, but it also allows someone else to enjoy something they may not have been able to afford.

#4 Minimizing food waste

Food is a significant component of holiday celebrations, but it’s also a prevalent source of waste. To minimize food waste, plan your meals and portions carefully. Consider using leftovers creatively by incorporating them into new dishes or freezing them for later use.

Consider donating excess food that cannot be consumed to local food banks or shelters. They often accept perishable items and can distribute them to those in need.

By following these simple tips, you can make your holiday season a little cleaner and more environmentally friendly. Remember, every small action counts in reducing waste and preserving our planet. From all of us at Clean Trash Services, we wish you a joyful and clutter-free holiday season!
